Choosing a Meraki Dairy Goat
We strive to fit the right animal with the right home so be sure to let us know what you are searching for.  Herd health, bio security and proper management are very important to us.  All kids sold will be disbudded, tattooed (wethers can be tattooed or scrapie tagged), vaccinated for CD/T, and supplemented with Bo-Se injection before leaving the farm. Coccidiosis preventative is also given to kids periodically until weaned.  Older bucks and does may also be available for sale so please see our for sale page.

Outside Breedings

We do not offer outside or trailer breedings for bio-security reasons. The health of our animals is important to us and we take all measures to ensure they're happy and healthy. Bred animals are very rarely offered for sale. In the rare instance a bred doe is offered for sale, she will be confirmed bred via ultrasound with confirmation proof provided to buyer, guaranteed bred when she leaves our property, after she leaves our farm, there are no other guarantees made. Bred doe and exposed does are two different definitions, exposed does are not guaranteed bred when they leave our farm, only exposed to a buck when she was in heat.

Reserving Your Meraki Kid
To reserve a Meraki kid, a $100 deposit is required, this deposit is only refundable or transferable if the kid is not born, I decide to retain it, or is not of acceptable quality. The remaining balance is due within 14 days of notification of birth or the kid/s will be offered to the next person in line. We ask that you pick a first and second kid choice option in the event that your 1st choice is not available.  If your choice of kid is not available or if the animal does not meet our standards of quality, we will gladly refund your deposit or transfer to another kid if that is your desire; however there are no refunds on cancelled orders. Deposits along with any monies paid on cancelled orders are not refunded.  Prices quoted are for pre-ordered kids picked up or shipped between 1 to 4 weeks of age, price of preordered kids with a deposit will not increase in a given year. We do reserve breeder's right to keep any animal born.  Please note that Nigerians are colored breeds and we cannot guarantee that kids born will be a certain color.  Kids rejected by buyer due to color are considered a cancelled order, therefore there would not be a refund. Health of any animal sold is not guaranteed after leaving our farm.

**We will not knowingly sell animals with health, genetic, or reproductive problems. In the instance that a genetic or health problem is found, the replacement offered will be a kid from that year or the next year's kidding season. Genetic problem examples include, but are not limited to, extra teats. Health problems must be presented to the veterinarian of our selection to verify any issue.

**We cannot guarantee height on your animal.

Deposits and Payment for older animals
Prices quoted are for animals picked up at the farm.  We will accept 2 buck kid reservations from each dam per year. Deposits on animals will hold that animal until pick-up within 14 days. Sending a deposit is your guarantee that you will buy that animal at the agreed upon price quoted within this time frame specified.  Deposits on animals offered for sale are accepted at the rate of $100 down per animal or 30% of the total amount, whichever is greater.  Once a deposit is placed on an animal, the goat must be picked up or shipped out of our possession within 2 weeks if picked up at the farm unless otherwise stated and agreed upon, or the animal may be offered for sale again or a boarding fee assessed at the rate of $30/week. Deposits can be transferred to another animal, but all monies paid on cancelled orders are not refunded. Cash, check, and PayPal are accepted as payment methods for deposits.  Buyer is responsible for all health certificates, veterinary exams, blood tests, shipping, crate, and other costs associated with veterinary fees and shipment.

We do accept PayPal and card payments, but be aware that buyer is responsible for all PayPal and card transaction fees (cards are assessed at a rate of 3% the total amount).  Please include appropriate fees in your transaction at the time of the transaction.  Click here to calculate your fees to send money via PayPal.  You can also send the PayPal funds via "friends and family" and fees are not assessed.

Taking Your Kid Home  
Although we encourage you to pick your kid up at the farm so that you may view related animals, this must be done by appointment only because of our work and time commitments.  We realize this may not always be possible so limited delivery can be arranged to the local shows and events we attend, with or without additional costs.  Long hauls to shows are prohibitive of trailer space, so we prefer to not bring sale goats with us that we are not showing.  Animals that are being picked up at the farm must be picked up by 2 weeks of age.  If being shipped it must be shipped at 4 weeks of age.  Let us know your needs well ahead of time so we can make the necessary airline arrangements to ship your new kid to you out of one of Columbus, Ohio airports.  All shipping costs, including individual cost of kid, Certificate of Veterinary Inspection and any related testing needed, shipping crate and shipping fees are to be paid in full by the buyer prior to time of shipping. We ask that you prepay a $550 airfare estimate for one kid or $700 for two (all payment overage will be refunded).  Animals must be shipped or picked up by 4 weeks of age.  Animals not shipped or picked up by 4 weeks of age unless by mutual agreement of the buyer and seller will forfeit deposits and be resold. We conduct transactions in a business like manor and insist on the same from buyers of our animals.

Buyer may:
1) Send us your clean airline IATA approved crate that is the correct size for your kid/s to be received at least one week prior to the anticipated ship date.
2)  Send us funds so a new crate can be purchased, at cost, for us to ship your kid/s to you (you keep the crate)


Bucks    
Please know that we do not keep just any buck that is born.  Our standards are high for a reason.  Buck kids will be castrated at or before 8 weeks of age if not pre-ordered as barn space and my time is limited. Due to time and work commitments, please understand that we do not like to keep "extra" buck kids around, so please consider pre-ordering and/or contacting us early.  We reserve the right to obtain 20 straws of semen from any buck we sell at the cost of collection.

Special Note Concerning Wethers
Nigerian wethers must be reserved with a $50 deposit with remaining balance due when kid is picked up at or before 2 weeks of age. We will not hold wethers without a deposit and we will not raise a wether till weaning.  No ADGA registration paper will be issued for wethers.  A scrapie tag or tattoo will be used on any wether.

Contact us if interested in purchasing a wether, I will keep a list of people with paid deposits for 2022 kids.

A deposit of $50 must be received to hold wethers for specific people, otherwise they will be posted on Facebook when available. Nigerian wethers are $125 each.

Instances of meeting with an animal

In the instance I am willing to meet a buyer with an animal, I do have certain conditions that must be met. I am more willing to transport a smaller goat or a kid that will fit in a dog crate in the back seat of my Honda Civic, so keep this in mind if requesting for me to meet with a goat. Larger sized animals that require transportation via truck will be charged at a different rate. I am willing to meet up to two hours worth of time one way, fees will be assessed on a round trip basis based on time spent on the road calculated using Google Maps. I will pick the place of meeting, usually a well known chain business. Transportation is not always available, it is based solely on work and other time commitments. **I will not deliver the animal to your house!**

Small sized goat travel fee: 1 hr or less - $75, 1-2 hrs - $150

Large sized goat travel fee: 1 hr or less - $100, 1-2 hrs - $200

As the breeder/owner of these animals, we do reserve the right to keep any animal born, or withdraw from sale if an animal does not meet our quality standards. We reserve the right to retain any kid that we feel is necessary to maintain our breeding program.
